Our Team

Dr. Derek O’Connor is originally from Bourbonnais, Illinois, a small town south of Chicago. He attended Butler University for undergrad, where he majored in Biology and Chemistry while also playing wide receiver on the football team. In 2021, Dr O’Connor graduated magna cum laude from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he received extensive training in all facets of dentistry. He has worked in Illinois for the last 4 years at a family practice started by his grandfather, where he continued his education with courses on restorative dentistry, endodontics, and clear aligner therapy. Dr. O’Connor is excited to join the Havens Family Dentistry team and continue providing the highest standard of care, and building strong relationships with the patients and community. 

Dr. O’Connor and his wife Jordan met in Indianapolis when both were attending Butler University and have a daughter, Emerson, and a dog, Addie. They enjoy cooking, traveling, attending sporting events and going to parks as a family. They are looking forward to exploring everything the Columbus area has to offer!

Dr. Rassi is originally from Cleveland, Ohio.  She earned her Bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and her Doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, OH.  She also completed a rigorous post-doctoral residency program at Summa Health System Hospitals, where she received advanced training in general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, dental implants, management of dental anxiety, and clear aligner orthodontics. She is trained and certified to provide treatment with Invisalign, botulinum toxin (Botox), dermal fillers, trigger point injection therapy, and dental implants. As a seasoned general dentist with almost ten years of private practice experience, Dr. Rassi enjoys building long-lasting relationships with her patients. Over the years, she has volunteered to provide essential dental care for underserved children, and she has even had the pleasure of serving as a general dentist for several of Cleveland’s professional athletes.

Dr. Rassi is committed to providing the best possible care for her patients by taking high quality continuing education courses. She goes above and beyond the basic continuing education requirements to ensure that she stays ahead of the curve and is up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques. She has completed intensive training courses in digital dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, oral rehabilitation, smile design, veneers, restorative techniques, Invisalign, Botox, dermal fillers, TMJ dysfunction, trigger point therapy, endodontics, oral medicine, occlusion, and dental implants. Moreover, Dr. Rassi is a member of several well-known dental organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the Spectrum Dental Society, Psi Omega dental fraternity, and more.

Dr. Rassi resides on the west side of Columbus with her fiancé, Nick, and their English Bulldogs. Dr. Rassi’s hobbies include cooking and baking, traveling, gaming, going to Cleveland sports games, and scuba diving.  She is a certified professional Open Water Diving instructor and loves to share her diving stories with others.

Laura has been working in the dental field since 2013 and brings a warm, welcoming presence to our front office. As a Patient Care Coordinator, she loves being part of each patient’s journey—especially seeing smile transformations and the confidence that comes with them. Laura enjoys creating a positive experience from the moment patients walk through the door. Outside of work, she loves hiking with her dog, Ozzy, spending quality time with family, and watching horror films.

Brittany is our office manager, she has worked in dentistry since 2012!  Brittany has worked as a consultant in dentistry as well as a treatment coordinator.  She started at Havens Family Dental in January of 2020 and has made a wonderful addition to our office.

When Brittany is not in the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, vacationing, playing pickleball, and gardening.

Holley began her career in dentistry in 2023 and has quickly become a valued part of our team. As a dental hygiene assistant, she enjoys supporting patients in their preventive care and contributing to a welcoming and comfortable environment.  Holley is a dental hygiene assistant because she gets to be part of a team that truly makes a difference in patients' health and confidence. She loves helping people feel at ease during their visits and seeing their smiles transform over time. Outside the office, Holley loves spending time with her pets, fiancé, and family. She’s a big Star Wars fan, enjoys training dogs, and unwinds by playing video games. Her friendly energy and attention to detail make her a great fit for both our team and our patients.

Katie began her career in dentistry in 2018. She takes pride in helping patients understand their dental insurance coverage and loves seeing familiar faces return with the confident, healthy smiles we've helped them achieve.

Outside the office, Katie enjoys running, swimming, spending time with friends, and relaxing with her two cats, Nancy and Bird. She also loves quality time with her husband, Jacob.

Kelly began her career in the dental field in 2020 and quickly discovered her passion for helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. She enjoys being part of a supportive and collaborative team, working together to meet each patient's individual goals.

Outside the office, Kelly loves spending quality time with her family and children. She enjoys walking local trails and cheering on her kids at their sporting events. Her warm and friendly nature makes her a valued part of both the office and the community.

Kelly has been working in dentistry since 2004 and brings a wealth of experience and compassion to our team. As a dental hygienist, she enjoys making meaningful connections with patients and takes great satisfaction in helping them improve their oral and overall health.

Outside the office, Kelly stays busy keeping up with her three children, who are very active in sports. She loves supporting them and being part of their activities whenever she can.

Laura began her career in dentistry in 2015 and has been dedicated to creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient ever since. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Laura now lives in Columbus with her husband and their three wonderful children.

With a warm and caring personality, Laura takes pride in helping patients feel at ease during their visits and ensuring they receive the best possible care. Outside of the office, you can usually find her in the kitchen—her favorite place to be. She loves cooking for her family and baking is truly her passion.

Lenzie has been working in the dental field since 2007 and brings a wealth of experience and compassion to our team. As a dedicated dental assistant, she is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, building lasting relationships, and playing a role in enhancing smiles and boosting confidence.

Outside the office, Lenzie enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their three daughters. She’s a proud sports mom and can often be found cheering from the sidelines. Her family also includes two energetic German Shepherds. In her free time, Lenzie loves camping, relaxing at the beach, visiting Disney, and making lasting memories with her loved ones.

Melinda has been a dedicated dental hygienist since 2002. She enjoys building connections with her patients and takes special care in helping those who may feel nervous about their visit—guiding them to see that coming to the dental office isn’t so scary after all.

Outside of work, Melinda enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, and their two children, Clara and Evan, along with their cat, Sugar. Her hobbies include playing tennis, reading, doing CrossFit, and cheering on her kids at their soccer games.

Kalee began her career in dentistry in 2010 and has been passionate about helping patients achieve healthier, more confident smiles ever since. As an EFDA, she finds great fulfillment in transforming smiles and witnessing the boost it gives to her patients’ self-esteem. One of her favorite aspects of the job is building long-term relationships and trust with those she cares for. Outside the office, Kalee enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend and three children. She loves the outdoors—whether it's kayaking, hiking, or gardening—and also has a passion for cooking.

Sharon joined our Dental Hygiene team in 2019. She is a graduate of Miami University where she earned her B.S. in Business Administration. After more than 18 years working in the Office Equipment Industry, she returned to school and earned her Associates in Dental Hygiene from Columbus State Community College. Her passion is helping patients have a positive dental experience while educating them on the value of having a healthy mouth.

When not working, Sharon enjoys spending time with her husband, spoiling her grandchildren and cheering on the Buckeyes either at home or traveling to Bowl Games whenever possible.

Erin has a bachelor of science in dental hygiene from The Ohio State University.  She graduated in 2010 and has had a variety of experiences in the dental field over this time.  She is compassionate and enjoys taking the time to get to know patients to better serve and educate them in a more personal way.  As a hygienist making sure her patients understand the "team work" aspect and how to work together to achieve dental health is her goal.  

Outside of work, Erin is a wife and a mother of two girls.  Her family is everything to her and she feels extremely blessed to have a good balance of work and home life.  They enjoy their country living and being outside soaking it in as much as possible.  

Jennifer has been in the Dental field since 2013. She got her start as a treatment coordinator but moved chaired side in 2015. Driven by a desire to help people. Jen loves working side by side with Dr. Hickman each day. Her 5 years of experience makes her a valuable member of our team.

When she's not keeping mouths in Tip-Top shape, Jen enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon and their 5 kids- Andrew, Josiah, Jonathan, Kate and Peyton. Her passions include traveling, kayaking, refinishing furniture and decorating.

Sabrina is one of our Dental Assistants at Havens Family Dental. Sabrina has been working as a Dental Assistant since 2015. She previously worked as a nanny and Veterinary assistant, until the age of 27 when she decided to make the move to Dentistry and never looked back. Sabrina’s favorite part of Dentistry is watching patient’s faces light up after receiving a smile makeover.

When she is not helping to make smiles brighter, Sabrina enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, Nathan, such as fishing, hiking, kayaking and standup paddle boarding, to name a few. She also enjoys crocheting during her free time, making homemade gifts for friends and coworkers. They also love spending time with their house full of fur babies! She has two Golden retrievers named Gus and Hank.
