After the preparation is finished, Dr. Hickman will take an impression of the tooth and send it to a dental lab for crown fabrication. 

During this time Dr. Hickman will place a custom-fitted temporary crown over your existing tooth to keep it protected until we are able to cement the final porcelain crown in place. During your second appointment, Dr. Hickman will remove the temporary crown and permanently cement the new porcelain crown.
